Eastex is the regional materials exchange for the East of England.

It's a free online information service where organisations can access information about redundant stock or surplus raw materials available from other organisations.

Its main aim is to help users dispose of surplus materials for little or no cost, enable others to source cheaper raw materials that others no longer need and reduce the amount of useful materials going to landfill or incineration.

The service operates on the principle that one company's waste is another's raw material. Eastex allows users to search the databases of individual county-based Exchanges to find suitable records to match their own needs.

If there are no matches, users can add their own requirements to the appropriate Exchange for others to find. It is a very efficient way of keeping useful materials in circulation.
Eastex has been designed with usability in mind. To search for a record that corresponds to your requirement, simply select SEARCH from the menu and follow the simple instructions. If you have any queries, please select CONTACT. For further information about waste and the legislation relating to it, select INFORMATION.
Eastex and the various county exchanges have been developed by the Supplier Support Scheme project, which is funded by Norfolk County Council and the East of England Development Agency. Eastex is very happy to share the technology freely with any public organisation wishing to provide a similar service in their area.
